NOTE : This tutorial is available both for Elements and Photoshop. As you see my Element is in French, but it works also in English, LOL !
Open a paper for example (here is a paper that I add to my “Chinese New Year” kit and with which Diana (FreeStyleMama) made some QP and brag books :
Now click on Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map.
You have several possibilities : you choose now which layer effect you want in the list below :
or you could do it later, in the layer dock itself.
I let it in “Normal”.
It applies by default a gradient made with your Foreground/Background colors (so if you need something special with two colors, choose your colors before clicking on the Layer Menu) and the result appear directly :
Here mines are red and white. But you have access to your gradient list, you could choose a several colors gradient, here I will click on this with the arrow, a pastel mixed colors.
and you obtain a multiple of new papers with this tip. You could prepare some new gradients before adding a gradient map layer, with your scheme for example, to stay in the tune. Like that you keep several colors on your element, not only a “camaieu” of one color….
When you feel easy with these simple steps, you could play with the layer possibilities (Multiply, Overlay, etc…) funny NO ???
