HOW TO RE-COLOUR A PAPER OR ELEMENT
-METHOD 1 - HUE/SATURATION – as per instructions above
I thought it was worth noting the differences between ticking (checking) the "colourise" box or not. Checking the colorise box when changing the colour of multi coloured paper or elements will change all the various colours to a monochromatic version of the hue (colour) you choose.

Leaving the colorise box un-ticked (un-checked) allows you to change the colours of the paper or element but still retain a variety of colours.

When re-colouring Black, white or grey items however you MUST check the colorise box.

- METHOD 2 - COLOUR FILL
Colour Fill is useful when you wish to change an element to a specific colour. If the element is solid (no opacity or texture used) you will get a solid fill of the new colour.

To fill an element with a new colour
1. Choose your colour
2. Control click on the eye of the layer (the element will be surrounded by marching ants)
3. Press Alt plus Backspace to fill with the foreground colour or Ctrl Backspace to fill with background colour
4. Control D to de-select the marching ants.

NOTE: The Hue/Saturation layer will affect all layers below it. Either move the layer you are colouring to the bottom layer or “turn off visibility” layers below by clicking on the eye/eyes of the layer/layers in the Layers palette.
