Saving Layouts in Photoshop for Upload to GalleriesSaving Layouts in Photoshop for Upload to Galleries
Most galleries have requirements for uploading your layouts to their galleries. The requirements at Nuts4Digi are that the layout must be a maximum size of 600 x 600 ppi and the file size should be a maximum of 125 kb. By making the layout 600 x 600 you will get the best viewing image possible for the gallery.

First of all I save my layouts in 3 formats.

(1) A .psd file so that if I never need to change anything on the layout I can.
(2) A flattened .jpg at full size (usually 12 x 12 at 300 ppi )
(3) A flattened .jpg 600x600 @ 72 ppi and under 125kb for upload into galleries

Open up your full sized flattened .jpg in Photoshop.

You now need to resize your layout to meet the size specifications.

Select Image / Image Size (Fig 1) .

And in the flyout box (Fig 2) enter 72 in the resolution first. Then enter the size you want the layout to be. In this case 600 x 600. It is very important to enter the resolution first.

You now want to save your layout select File / Save For Web (Fig 3). Adjust the quality slider (Fig 4)until the file size (which you can find down the bottom left of the screen) is just under 125kb. (Fig 5).
